Alexandra holds the role of Innovation Manager at Journey Partners. In this role she is responsible for the day to day management of key innovative projects and building solutions that have a genuine commercial impact for our clients in the aerospace, aviation and travel industries.
With a wealth of experience in the aviation and travel sectors, Alexandra has worked for organisations in the airline, aviation leasing and airport settings. She is also the co-founder of the Irish Aviation Students’ Association, a non-profit initiative established in 2015, whose objective is to promote the career diversity of the aviation industry to talent nationally and act as a platform for networking and learning. For the first two years she chaired the association and moderated and spoke at conferences such as ICAO NGAP Global Summit in Montreal, Canada.
Alexandra’s passion for technology, travel and aviation, combined with her work experience, led her to co-found AirCrewser, an award-winning provider of quality travel content by writers who travel for a living. In addition, she has advised a number of start-ups in the aviation space. She is also the Program Director with Girls in Tech Dublin, a global not-for-profit organization founded in 2007 with the headquarters in San Francisco whose aim is to act as a support network for female professionals working in STEM which has grown to over 250k members in 61 chapters across 6 continents.
Alexandra graduated with distinction in the Engineering Technology in Aviation Technology from Dublin Institute of Technology, she also holds a Diploma in Investing from the Institute of Investing & Financial Trading and a Diploma in International Travel Industry Studies from the International Academy of Travel.
Alexandra has visited more than 20 countries and lived in UAE, Luxembourg, Romania and Ireland inclusively.
Brian is the Managing Partner of Journey Partners, using his passion for developing people to enable organisations to reimagine their approach to talent. Brian has extensive experience in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors bringing a fresh approach to corporate culture, diversity and talent development.
Brian has unique experience of working on both sides of the employer – employee dynamic. He spent years working with individuals in transition at the top 100 ranked business school, the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School. Brian established and led the Career & Skills Development department, winning two international awards for his contribution to the field. More importantly, however, he worked with programme participants ranging from pre-experience graduates through to C-Level executives on MSc, MBA and Executive Development programmes, listening to their hopes and expectations of employers. Here he started to understand the increasing levels of divergence between employee expectations and what they were experiencing in organisations. It gave Brian a unique insight into the elements which added up to low engagement, as well as those that increased that connection with employers and leaders. Brian also has a background in executive search where he started to understand the challenges organisations had in presenting a compelling offering which attracted the right candidates.
On the employer side, Brian has helped organisations to create different experiences, whether that be establishing an innovative, brand new leadership development programme while in a role as head of talent development at the global professional services firm EY, supporting a large change management programme in the insurance industry in London when the organisation was rebranding and creating global synergies, or through supporting IT driven organisational change in a government department in the UAE.
Brian has chaired a major international conference on the intersection of employers and talent. He has been a director of two registered charities, Relationships Ireland and AHECS, and is a projects assessor for Social Entrepreneurs Ireland. He is a mentor to start-up companies in the DCU Ryan Academy for Entrepreneurship and other incubation centres and supervises masters level theses of students at Dublin City University. Brian has a BSc in business information systems from University College Cork, a diploma in psychology from Dublin Business School, a diploma in coaching from Kingston College and an MBA from University College Dublin.
Dr Clyde Hutchinson is a partner at Journey Partners.
Previously, Clyde was the General Manager of a global talent management consultancy, working with companies globally to establish high performing senior management teams and boards. His particular area of expertise is in venture capital backed lifescience and technology companies.
He is also involved in public and third sector digital transformation and engagement as an Innovation Specialist for the Irish healthcare system (HSE) and managing their eHealth Connect programme. Clyde is the co-founder of Sports & Tech, Europe’s largest event solely dedicated to technology in sport. He is currently developing a start-up for the diagnosis and treatment of sports related brain injuries and other neurological conditions.
Committed to the Irish start-up ecosystem, he is a mentor the DCU Ryan Academy for Entrepreneurship, Irish universities campus companies and several other incubation centres. Clyde is involved in co-running several start-up events and conferences. He is an experienced board director within Commercial, NGO/Charity and Professional bodies and currently serves as Chair of Wildlife Rehabilitation Ireland, which represents wildlife welfare in Ireland and is embarking on fundraising for Ireland’s first Wildlife Hospital. Clyde is also the founder of the Ireland Israel Business Network, a non-political organisation developing bilateral business development and innovation/knowledge sharing through start-up competitions, trade missions and events in both countries.
Clyde spent the early part of his career as an academic working at Tokyo University, Imperial College and University of Cambridge, engaging in ground breaking research resulting in a number of highly cited publications. A graduate of Queen’s University Belfast with a PhD in Biochemistry, Clyde also has an MBA from the Open University.
